Meaning: The Incarnation of Christ

Explanation: Taking advantage of the double movement of ascent and descent that a ladder allows, this emblem represents Jacob´s Ladder to mean both the Incarnation of the Lord and the purpose inherent to it: the Redemption of the humankind.

In this sense, the abstract of this Consideratio announces: “The Son of God descended from Heavens to become the son of the man and of the Mother of Sorrows, sacrificing himself on the cross for us”, while the chosen quotation recalls the words of the Creed: “Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from Heavens”.
